Humanitarian Response in Turkey

As rescue and relief efforts are continuing in full force in Turkey, “Operation Sunflower” volunteers with the support of “Ocean of Hope” couldn’t stay aside from such a tragedy, and reacted promptly to deliver the urgently needed supplies in Alanya, following the list of items officially announced by the local municipality. Among the items were personal hygiene products for children and adults, raw food products, tea, sugar, warm clothes, blankets, and first aid kits. Our volunteers handed the humanitarian packages to Alanya rescue and relief center organized by Alanya municipality at Ataturk square.

Alanya has recently received over 22 thousand people from the affected regions and therefore, this help will be delivered to them directly in the hospitals and shelters. This humanitarian campaign is particularly sensitive for one of our team members as, fortunately, she’s rescued herself from Hatay city (Antakia) and witnessed the scale of this tremendous disaster.

Another part of our team is currently organizing the humanitarian aid package (warm clothes for children and adults, food products, and hygiene kits) in Ankara. These items will be passed directly to the rescued people from the most affected regions, now located in shelters and hospitals.
